The Bight Lights cabaret went very well. I was really happy with how my song was performed.
It was pretty cool to hear a guy sing it, since I wrote it for a woman, but it actually sounded like it was meant for a guy.
I'm glad it's so versitile--I like it when songs aren't really gender-specific. It opens the song up for lots of different interpretations.
Speaking of performances, I have another coming up soon! My song "On My Bedroom Wall"
(music by Sebastian Fabal, who I wrote "Niagara At Night" with) will be performed at Theater for the New City
on Monday, August 3. The talented Elysia Segal will be singing--I worked with her a lot on
Hero Complex last year, and I'm excited to hear her sing something else of mine. So come!
My song will be performed at around 8:35ish, in case you can't stay for the whole evening.

I've spent the past few days completely redoing this site--I hadn't touched it for two years,
partly because I was so busy with grad school, partly because it was so ugly I couldn't stand to look at it,
and partly because I'd forgotten how to like...update it. But now that I've graduated, I'm going to really make an effort
to maintain this site and to continue to work on making it better. It's a little frustrating
because I have extremely limited html skills, but I'll do the best I can.
Part of what prompted this website makeover was that I actually have news! My song "Niagara," with
music by Sebastian Fabal, will be performed Sunday, July 19 (tomorrow!) at 7 pm at the Triad Theatre,
as part of Dreamlight Theatre's Bright Lights cabaret series. The concert tomorrow is featuring writers from my
Graduate Musical Theatre Writing class. I hope you can come! Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
